• Playback speed of of video layers and audio tracks can now be changed by using the new playback speed slider in the Options sub section of Video Options or Audio Options in the sidebar.
• Pressing the a-key while scrubbing in Timeline view adds a keyframe point to the animation speed curve of the selected layer. This is analogous to the o-key, which adds a keyframe point to the opacity curve of the selected layer.
• When replacing the media file of a layer via the context menu, the green usage counter in the media browser is now updated correctly.

• FotoMagico 6.9 introduces a new simplified license management system that no longer requires a separate Boinx Connect account. Instead simply register your license with your existing email address to use the same license on multiple devices.

• For layers that are completeley invisible because the layer itself and it's mask do not overlap anymore, it is now easier to click and manipulate that layer. Simply select it beforehand in the Storyboard, then click inside the white selection frame in the Stage and drag the layer as desired, even if you do cannot see the layer contents (because they are still masked).
• Map layers can now draw an unlimited number of locations and route waypoints. The previous limit of 32 has been removed.
• You can now add a text layer in an empty document or if the playhead is at the end of the slideshow without first adding a blank slide.
• Dragging control points in opacity, animation speed, or effect strength curves is now more reliable.
• Adding or removing points in curves with pressed command key is more robust.
• Double clicking on a curve to edit points numerically in the popover is now more reliable.
• When using multi-slide snippets with pre-defined animations (e.g. titles or splitscreens), the AI animation feature no longer messes up the pre-defined snippet animations.

Version 6.8.1 - October 2025

• FotoMagico 6.8.1 is compatible with macOS 26 Tahoe.
• Added Spanish and Italian translations to the FotoMagico UI. This translation was created automatically with the help of AI. While it might not be perfect, it is a first step. For our native speaker users out there, you can help us to improve on this first step. • Dragging photos or videos from the Photos app window to a FotoMagico slideshow now works as expected. If the media files are still in the cloud, a download progress will be shown, so that import can be canceled.
• Click on the left or right ends of the Stage jogwheels to decrement or increment the zoom and rotation values by small steps.
• Press the option/alt key while using the Stage jogwheels to zoom or rotate with more precision. Pressing the control key at the same time disables snapping, which is useful for straightening a crooked horizon on landscape photos.
• When collapsing a chapter in the Storyboard, the chapter duration is now displayed at the bottom.
• When scrubbing in the Storyboard or Timeline, the correct timecode will now displayed immediately, instead of just after moving the mouse for the first time.
• Improved performance of opening and manipulating extremely large slideshow documents.
• Selecting the input microphone in the Narration Assistant now works again.
• While editing map route head icons, the Stage now displays the correct icon on the left and right side, if the head icon changes along the route.
